Passport to France is the event of the season for fine French cuisine, wines and spirits,
French culture and entertainment!

The event began 26 years ago when FACC-Chicago launched the city’s original, largest
and most festive soirée in honor of the Beaujolais Nouveau’s official uncorking. Since then,
the event has grown into a true celebration of everything French, where guests can taste
wines and spirits from all over France, meet the Chefs of some of Chicagoland’s top
restaurants, and enjoy French music and entertainment. Because Passport to France is, at
its core, a fundraiser, guests are also encouraged to bid on trips to France and around Europe,
luxury items, house wares and more in our event’s silent auction.

Your Passport to France Evening Includes:
  • Fine French cuisine served by some of Chicago’s top Chefs!
  • Pastries, chocolates, ice cream and more for the sweeter French tooth
  • Tastings of French wines and spirits, including the 2011 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau

  • The chance to win a trip for two to anywhere in Europe, a week-long stay in Paris, Chicago weekend getaways and more in our silent auction

Sushi Samba (Hour) Foodie Chat with Steve Green

Monday, October 24 · 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Sushi Samba

504 North Wells Street
Chicago, IL

Join Steve Green for this Monumental Event

The Revolution of Foodie Chat (#Foodiechat) began on Monday, May 9, 2011. On May 9th I asked a Foodie Question on Twitter and like ten people answered. I asked another question and 20 people answered, and it kept growing from there.I asked questions until 2am with an overwhelming amount of participation from my Twitter followers. It was a blast! That evening, we became the trending topic on Twitter in Chicago & Miami!

Food…ie Chat is hosted on Twitter using the hashtag #Foodiechat every Monday night at 7pm CST. I (@SteveGOGreen) ask ten questions until 8:30pm CST and everyone joins in and answers. The night is about talking Foodie and more importantly it’s about making friends and new connections.

I am so excited to host Foodie Chat (#Foodiechat) with my good friends at Sushi Samba. Follow @SushiSamba on Twitter. We will be gathering on the 3rd floor for a great night!

Join us for from 6:00pm-7:00pm for complimentary bites and cocktail specials. Starting at 7pm CST SUSHI SAMBA will be offering their new SAMBA HOUR menu celebrating Peruvian cuisine.

Each month, SAMBA HOUR takes flight to one destination from our tri-cultural coalition – Brazil, Japan, and Peru – ‘upgrading’ Happy Hour standards to first class flavor – happy hour will never be the same! This October, we will celebrate the culture and cuisine of Peru. Sip on Peru’s classic libation – the pisco sour – a frothy eye-opener made with a zesty combination of flavors that will refresh your senses. Enhance your adventure with the smoky essence of Peruvian street-food, anticuchos. Or, enjoy the Inca Roll made with the freshest, Peruvian-inspired ingredients – one bite and you will be transported straight to Machu Picchu!

Follow the Hashtag #Foodiechat on Twitter as we will be tweeting live in Chicago, and with our friends from around the world. Let’s show everyone that Chicago is one of the greatest Foodie Towns in the world!

Join us LIVE at 6:00pm CST at Sushi Samba or on Twitter starting at 7:00pm CST! Let the #Foodiechat begin! First Question of the night is at 7:07pm CST.

Look forward to seeing all my Chicago Friends! I am sooooo Excited!

Celebrate “Eco-Chic” Gems At Bourdage Pearls in Pearl Education 101

Chicago, IL – The pearl has been a symbol of unblemished perfection since ancient times. Considered the oldest known gem, the pearl is the only jewel made by an animal. Middle Eastern and Asian societies have been harvesting and wearing the precious gem since as early as 3500 B.C. In many countries, pearls were worn as a declaration of wealth and power, and were also used as a talisman to bring good fortune, to ward off evil spirits and to cure illnesses. Throughout mankind, pearls have been symbolic of purity, chastity and feminine charm.

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m., Chicago jeweler Sherri Bourdage of Bourdage Pearls, located at 3530 North Southport in Chicago is hosting “Pearl Education 101” to celebrate the history of the pearl, which she refers to as Mother Nature’s own “eco-chic” gem. Bourdage Pearls is bringing in local pearl expert, Edward Huang, from Huang’s Trading Co., in Skokie, IL, as a guest speaker for this free, educational seminar. Huang specializes in quality freshwater, Tahitian, Akoya and South Sea pearls and will offer insights on the “eco-chic” gems, alongside Bourdage Pearls owner Sherri Bourdage.

“Pearl Education 101” will educate attendees on what makes pearls unique, methods for selecting good quality pearls, the differences between saltwater and freshwater pearls and why purchasing pearls can be great for the environment. In addition to the educational aspect of the evening, Bourdage Pearls will also be offering beautiful heirloom and investment pieces of jewelry, available for sale this night only!

To RSVP for an upcoming Pearl History Seminar at Bourdage Pearls, , located at 3530 North Southport in Chicago, please call 773-244-1126.
