Glamorama Exclusive Launch Party Hosted by Chicago Now’s Candace Collins Jordan

Marta, Katie, Ka, & Viktoria of nowYOUknow Events

VIEW ALL EVENT PHOTOS AT

KX PHOTOGRAPHY

If the pre-launch event last night is any indication of how amazing Glamorama will be in August, you don’t want to miss the main event.  I always knew Glamorama was one of the best annual events in Chicago, but now I am definitely convinced.  You better get your tickets here now before they sell out!.

Last night was an all-star extravaganza at Room 1520 with a room full of well-known Chicago faces, live music, an open bar, food served throughout the night, and a lot of extra treats all evening long.  The only thing missing was the red carpet because I sure felt like a star standing in that room.

Sponsor AON Hewitt pulled out all the bells and whistles for an over-the-top, no holds bar, exclusive star-studded party.  Scattered throughout the venue were different featured designers, companies, artists, bakers, and open bars sponsored by Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, Miller, Coors, Four Roses Bourbon Whiskey, Vitamin Water, & Skyy Vodka. Passed hors d’ouveres such as mini quesadillas, bbq pork sliders, ahi tuna, shitake mushroom bites with truffle, and more were courtesy of Blue Plate Catering and were available all night.  And there was also a candy bar from The Hershey Company with bags for guests to fill and take home.

Illustrator Rosemary Fonti was drawing free sketches of all the guests and of course I had to have one done.  Newcomer, Anna of Custom Sweets & Treats was giving out free samples of her delciously moist, melt-in-your-mouth mini cakes that had me begging for more in chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, and oreo flavors.  You can contact her here: adidonna14@gmail.comInternational House of Couture located in Palos Heights was showing off some of their evening gowns.  Action Booth was set-up to capture fun, action shots of all the attendees.  Models turned the room into a catwalk wearing designs by Horacio Nieto and Elda de la Rosa.  I was already a fan of their designs, but last night I fell in love and it is my dream to own an original by both artists!

In addition to all the aforementioned excitement, the crowd was well-entertained.  DJ Emilio Abadia – aka The Crossfader King – was spinning beats all night mixing old school tunes with current hits.  Blah Blah Blah – a multi-cultural, socially conscious quartet, who’s main goal is to willfully impart positivity and optimism upon their burgeoning and passionate fan-base (taken from their site) played a couple sets during the night.  And getting the party started right – Hip Hop connXion was in the house busting a move, breaking it down, and shaking it on the dance floor.  It was impossible not to get up on your feet and shake your groove thing with them in the house.  They even had a party line going at one point.  Their energy is incredible and it is clear they love what they do!

And as if all of that wasn’t already enough, there was more excitement, fun, and suprises to be enjoyed.  Additional sponsors for the event included Custom Designs by Phillips Flowers & Gifts, Lighting by Five Star Audio Visual, and CS Magazine.  Several other designers, models, photographers, writers, and media personal were also present including Sandra Smith-Doghmi of Red Carpet Concierge, Marcus Riley of NBC Chicago, photgrapher Amie Hana, Kayoua Xiong of KX Photography, photgrapher Steve Starr, Chicago Street Style Scene, Cece & Melinda of Raymi Productions, photographer Mila Samokhina, Victoria Ivanchyk of Viktoria’s Closet, Shaun Rajah of the Drake Hotel, Ryan Beshel of Agency Galatea, Taneisha Jordan and Alia Rajput of Second City Style, Marco Foster of Chicago Models, and Brenda Arelano of NBC Universal.  And hosting the whole evening was the lovel Candice Collins Jordan (aka Candid Candace) of Chicago Now.  And the entire evening was benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).  Director of Events Christina Thomas was in attendance, too.

As a final treat, guests received gift bags as they headed home with the latest copy of CS Magazine, Mercadito gift cards, gorgeous jewelry from Sequin, perfume samples, and more.  It goes with out saying that this was a night to remember and everyone had an amazing time.  It will be hard for everyone to contain their excitement in anticipation of Glamorama set for Friday, August 12th with guest entertainers Cee Lo Green and Far East Movement.  Again, if you haven’t already done so, be sure to buy your tickets here before they sell out.

Enjoy the photos courtesy of several guest & photographers – Steve Starr, Amie Hana, Chicago Street Style Scene, Marco Foster, Mila Samokhina, and of course nowYOUknow (NYK)!  And as always, more photos will be uploaded to the NYK Facebook page so make sure to find us on FB and LIKE us today!
