If you weren’t out celebrating Fashion’s Night Out it’s clear that you’re a football fanatic or a dedicated political buff (possibly both).
NYK started our evening at the Shops at Northbridge. In order to get into the VIP lounge we had to arrive early and be ready to check in via Facebook at 6pm sharp. Naturally, being the fashion dedicated ladies that we are, were first in line… 1st stop VIP lounge to sip on wine and enjoy chocolate from Vosges, small bites from Big Bowl. But there was no time to linger long. While one of us enjoyed a beauty make over at Bobby Brown ::ahem…Fabulous!!!:: the others ventured off to take pictures of the noshes, fashions, and special sales offered on the upper floors of the shopping center.
Soon it was time to rush off to the 900 shops for more fashion, beauty and delectable tastings! All five floors were alive with excited people flitting from store to store or anxiously waiting in line to try the evening’s culinary delights. The VIP lounge was packed with the ‘it’ people of the Chicago social scene.
More FNO fun at Macy’s Water Tower. We were treated to free fashion sketches, flip book fun (you gotta check them out: www.alittlescene.com. Ladies and gentleman alike got to participate in fashion challenges with How Do I Look’s Marcellas Reynolds for a chance to win $100 Macy’s gift certificates. Marcellas, who is originally from Chicago, hoped that he had time to pop into Al’s Beef before his busy schedule whisked him back to L.A.. NYK had a few moments to talk and laugh with the star and he is truly one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Our evening ended at Sofia on Oak Street where we sipped on cocktails and rocked out to a live band. If you love shopping, visit Sofia. There you will find the best hand picked pieces from emerging local talent and vintage classics from established designers.
